"180 gram LP + free CD of the album. In this well-loved session recorded in NYC between December 12 and 29, 1952, a young Stan Getz can be heard leading one of his finest quintets.

Although only 25 years old at the time, Getz was already a giant of the jazz world, with many of the tracks from this album-including "These Foolish Things", "Stella by Starlight" and "Thanks For The Memory", featuring the great Jimmy Raney on guitar-becoming major hits.

Getz would go on to even greater fame in the mid-sixties with his Grammy Award winning version of "The Girl From Ipanema".

The first four tracks on the B side are taken from the Dec 19 session and are bonus tracks."
